You're welcome.... this is only for those who live in the dark side.... no street lights only star lights to back up with...
I'm out in the hills as much as I can be and my night vision isn't as good as it should be. This will be perfect for maneuvering on the trail at night.

Aren't they in the way of the plug? Also, I've scrapped down rocks that would take those lights with it. Not a great placement for me.

Yes the KC backup lights are great for this purpose as it throws a great pattern. Thanks for confirming the use of KC light that can be used anywhere for backup.

Did you wire you lights into the Aux panel like MacJack or to the tow harness? I think I would perfer they're on everytime I put the Jeep in reverse

In the aux switches. I turn them on when I need them. Also, before the lights got ripped of I would lose the tow hitch and part of the muffler. So I'm not worried about it but everyone is different

I've notice how dim the back up lights are as well. Right now I have to lightly press on the brakes when backing up to get enough light behind the JL. Those red LEDs are really bright!

Did you drill into your bumper to mount these? I have the steel bumper and am just honking about how I would mount them in that same location.

I used existing bolts on bumper

Awesome, I just got home and looked and found the bolts. It is going to block my plugs for the hitch but I don't think I'll ever tow and if I do I'll figure it out then. Lol FTW.

Thanks! Love both options! I really need bright back up lights. I think my preference would be to have them automatically go on when I shift to reverse, we have a lot of darkness up here.
Anyone have any thoughts or “how-to” so that I wire them directly to my factory tow harness (for the automatically on in R), AND as well wire to the AUX switch so I can also manually turn the lights on if required? Any electrical wizards know if i can do both? Thanks in advance!

Great write-up. I would also love to do this but wire so they automatically turn on in reverse. I do not have the tow package or auxiliary switches on my rubicon. Is it possible to hook them up to turn on automatically in reverse? I haven’t done any electrical projects on the Jeep yet but hoping this is doable. Really need a solution for the extremely dim backup lighting. Thanks.
