Can’t wait until darkness….. just installed my backup lights in 2018 Rubicon JL Wrangler 2Dr. This is my forth Jeep and back lighting is an issue at night. I was hoping my new JL with LED lights would be better. It wasn’t….

So here the look of how bright the backup lights look..…

Thanks.... I have been studying this and had to return other lights to make this work... Out of pocket expense is $110.

Check out the installation where I used sheet metal screws using the brackets supplied...

Thanks for the write-up! Maybe I missed it but I didn’t see where you mentioned how you wired everything. Are you running a manual switch, or did you tap them into the factory reverse lights so they turn on/off automatically?

Opp...... I missed a page in writeup..... I have attached here a correct pdf and will try to replace original pdf.

So the answer is ran wire to front passenger side connection point for the AUX switch and put it to AUX 3.

You have to just love a DIY that's not only ingenious, but that promotes safety. Inadequate backup lighting has always one of my pet peeves with vehicles (fairness: the backup cam in the JL is very good, IMHO, in low light situations.)

Think about this. It's a design meeting at some manufacturer.

"Lets light up the sky when people have their head facing forward, but dimly light the way when their heads are turned to the rear and visibility is limited to begin with."

True, we drive 99% of our way in forward gears, but hitting someone will hurt 100% as much, forward or reverse.
