Since I needed a roof rack for my RTT and, so far, no one has a solution that fits the 4xe with the SkyOneTouch roof I decided to start my own build. I know the gutters could take some load but i wouldn't take a chance and decided to add some removable support to the rack in the back. I can mount and unmount the whole system with the tent in 5 min, just loosening 2 support brackets and pulling it under my garage ceiling while the lower support brackets will stay on the rear bumper. Just printing a rubber cap with my 3d printer for the small brackets so no water and dirt can come in while the uprights are not mounted. It's getting a paint job now, I will post some pictures once it's completely finished. 1st time for me as a carpenter doing welding and fabrication, couldn't be happier how it all turned out. Definitely rock solid and with 35 lbs not too heavy.

Note that the rack has a full 5' support on each gutter. I had to forge the L-Brackets into shape to make it work. I'm $250.00 into materials for this and 12 hours of fabrication.

This is fantastic. Especially if it's your first time doing fab work. Looks great.

Probably a market to start selling these were you so inclined. I ordered the sky roof too and haven't seen any RTT options out there.

Juergen: great work but LOD Offroad and Gobi don't have offerings that are compatible with the Sky One power roof?

Funny enough: where you may have a market is with the 4xe. There's not place to attach a rack at the driver's side cowl thanks to some IMHO bad charging port location designs.

Well done - looks great so far! I like that it spreads the load by seating the rail within the 5’ length of each gutter (unique vs other options on the market I think) as well as the vertical supports connecting to the rear bumper. I may have missed it in the pics but are there any clamp points in the front to prevent lift while driving?

So the roof rack is finished ant i already took it off road today. Not a single movement and rock solid. Couldn't be more happy how it turned out.
