DIY Goose Gear platform

Has anyone made a 2-door platform for the rear of the trunk (with the back seats out)? I was thinking about making one out of plywood as the stock carpet and pull up hatch are getting pretty destroyed. I like the idea of the goose gear system but the price tag is steep enough to give the DIY a try. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try using hard wood plywood and waterproof laminate or vinyl flooring over that. Waterproof flooring has strong composite core.

If you go the vinyl route, don’t do the peel and stick. It’ll separate with temp changes.
