DIY BOV?

Has anyone done this ? Any downsides to it? Seems like leaving the port the hose connects to just open would cause issues with water?

Did this to my wife's rig. For two years! It did well. Even drove through mud puddles too! We would check after mudding and in between cleaning. Upgraded her to a Turbo Smart Dual port bov. It's much louder and a real head turner. With the cheaper route. I noticed while driving to make it louder. I needed to drive the hell out of her. With the new dual bov it screams with half throttle. If that makes sense.
