Picked up the JLU Rubicon from discount tire after having them mount BFG 315/70/17 onto the factory rims. Ordered load range C and paid for load range C (invoice shows C), but when I went to clean them up found out they were all E rated. From the forums I've read, everyone says that E are very rough, but would like a few comments from anyone that is running load range E on their JLU. I will notify discount tire of their mistake, but not sure if I want them to swap the tires for load range C or just keep the E on. Thanks!

I have 35x12.5R18 KO2’s load range E tires. They were on the Jeep when we purchased it new. I don’t think they ride rough at all. If it was me, I would keep them.

Look up threads or videos on chalk test - get your pressure right and you will be fine. They are harder but if/when you wheel you will be glad you have a rougher tire. Plus they are better under load.

I'd go back and get what I ordered. Any weight saved is beneficial.

Maybe I missed it but I don’t see a C range tire in that size on their site.

The only K02s that are C rated are specifically the K02s that are made for the Raptor. You had to have specified that you want raptor K02s. If you did not, they probably thought you just made a mistake and gave you what you asked for (35" K02s)

There are more than just “Raptor” tires that are C load I n the KO2 - most are 17” - Raptors do have a C load KO2 tires but they aren’t the only size available. The size he has 35/12.5/18 looks like it only comes in E load.

My point was the raptor 35" K02 is a C rated, while a regular 35" K02 is E rated.

I would definitely go back and alert them of their mistake. Load Range E tires may have some benefits but they ARE NOT going to ride like a Load Range C. Period! Tell them you either want what you ordered or a credit back of $250 ($50 per tire) for their mistake.

I live on a gravel road and run load range E tires on both of our trucks and my jeep. If you are doing much off roading or riding back roads you will be glad you have them. I swapped my factory tires C rated to Cooper ST Maxx load range E and there is not a difference in the ride. I don't have the flats I did when I ran C rated tires because of rock cuts and punctures. I would keep them unless you just run the highway and not carrying any loads.

I would go back and get what you paid for, I have not personally rode in a Jeep with D or E ratings but from what I have been told it’s a rougher ride than C’s and that’s what I’m rolling on

Only problem is they don’t make what he paid for - that size tire only comes in an E range at least from what I can find

I would think 315/70R17’s would be close, they are like 34.3” and come in a C rated BFG K/O 2

It’s what I run and they are pretty smooth and quiet
