Looking to remove my front seat to finalize new amp install and having a difficult time disconnecting the wiring harness. I have searched and just can’t find a pic or video of how to disconnect it. I have pulled the red tab up but just can’t get it to separate. Anybody know the “trick”?

Watch this video closely..... the first couple of minutes of it... it shows very clearly, how you get that connector disconnected on a JL or JT.

Do a total 12v power kill before you get going on this project.. Do this 12v power kill by following the instr. below.

Just a heads up, ever time I’ve disconnected a driver or passenger seat, even with the battery disconnected, my air bag light came on and I had to clear it.

Edit
I forgot to mention clearing airbag and abs lights take a specific kind of scan tool. Not all of them can clear those lights.

Just an FYI I was able to install a compressor and ham radio under my passenger seat by removing the bolts and just leaning the seat back. You might be able to do the same. It provided plenty of clearance and the wires had enough slack that I wasn’t worried about messing anything up.

Now that I know the “trick” to disconnecting the harness, next mods will be easier.
