Discoloration - Heater element on rear hatch window - is this normal?

My local Jeep dealership claims that the discoloration is normal and exists on all new Jeeps. This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. $50K product ... does not have a clean rear hatch window.

To vent my frustration - it’s an ugly blemish on an otherwise sexy and beautiful interior.

But why the ugliness ? What was going on in the heads of FCA design engineers? Couldn’t they have done a cleaner integration of the heater element into the glass like all normal vehicles ... or use a clean white / black substrate ?

Mine is the same. I thought it was because of a leak, but I really think it was from having the doors off and dew collecting on all the inside glass.

If you have an issue with that, just wait until the electrical connectors fall off.

same here, doesn't bother me as long as it works, and mine works great

Since a week after purchase 2 years ago (12/17 build) My JLUS had no working defroster until Jan. 2020 this year! I finally after 6 fixes including a new window and new wiring kit have a defroster that works, for now!

So ignore the color and melt that ice!
