So the original liner isn't acceptable if they take it out and then install it correctly?
If you look at the well there are no pre drilled holes in it. if you have put it in incorrectly the hole you make is in the wrong place. when the bolt is removed and the well is repeated a new hole will need to be drilled, leaving an extraneous hole from the improper install.

I would be frustrated as well. I hope they have you rental car to drive while they attempt to get yours back to you in a timely manner. To take apart your engine to get to a fuel rail is a simple process(I know a few that can screw it up). I'm not sure what they can possibly find wrong with a fuel rail. Anything is possible, the fuel rail on the 3.6 in the G Cherokee was recalled because of damage and could leak fuel. Prior to our JL we had a 18 Compass that had so many issues with the driveline our sales took it back and we upgraded to the JL.
Looks like Iā€™m getting the Jeep back today. They are pretty certain the issue stemmed From the fuel relay and didnā€™t see the need to replace the fuel rail which pleases me.

My dealer got another JL in this week with the same issue as mine. Hope weā€™re not seeing the making of a pervasive issue. Replacing rear glass today and I will pick it up tonight. Hopefully this all behind me now. Thanks all for sharing your views. Good luck to us all!

One note to add. Thanks to @JeepCares for raising my issue up through FCA. Unlike some posters I had a great experience, quick turnaround and follow up from a specialist on the phone out of Michigan. They proactively extended my warranty to 5 years 100k miles to allay concerns moving forward. Good customer service. Satisfied once again!

Okay I have a new one. My JL wrangler unlimited rubicon was doing great. Then one day I was driving over 50mph and there was a strange noise coming from the wheel well from the driver side. It sounded like that air was caught behind some piece of plastic but I was not sure. Then I did not hear it for days, and then it happened again. But it was so intermittent, I did not know how I was going to get the dealer to reproduce it. Finally I was taking a friend to the airport and it happened on the way out, but under the exact same conditions (speed and location) it did not happen. That's when it was clear, that it only happened at speed with a direct headwind.

I looked at the wheel wells and compared the how the plastic, that makes up the well, was seated. Turns out that the passenger side, the well is perfectly seated into the front bumper of the jeep. On the driver side it is not seated at all.

I looked to see if a clip or screw was missing, but then I notice that they (the factory) had bolted the plastic well out of position, so it would not seat at all. My assumption is this is the source of the strange noise. I am trying to get into the dealer but it has been tough to get an appointment. I may have to choose a different dealership service department. I have had this jeep for just under a month.

I guarantee I am going to take plenty of pics, and that I will not leave the dealer until I see the old well and have the new well put in properly. I will not accept them unscrewing the bolt and seating the existing well to the proper place with an extraneous bolt hole in it.

Before you take delivery on your JL, make sure to look at the front wheel wells carefully.

I do not have time right now because of work, but I will follow up with pics later.

Funny, because I sent @JeepCares a pm for a concern Wednesday and haven't gotten a response yet. Weird, especially since they are posting on threads.

I cannot submit my problem to JeepCares on their website. I just get a spinning "loading" wheel regardless of the browser I use. The JeepCares rep was the one who told me to go there and submit the problem.

I then sent a private message to JeepCares on this forum, and they have not helped me.

x2 for pics. hard to picture

The four pics I have uploaded are from the passenger and driver side (US) of the vehicle. I did my best to make it exactly the same.

These first two show how the plastic is seated (or not seated).
This is the passenger side. Look on the right center area. The part that looks white is the billet silver in sunlight. It is tucked in with no chance of catching the wind.

This is the Drivers Side. You can easily see how it is not seated. At first I thought it needed to be pushed back in place, but then I looked to see where it was connected.

This is a look at the bolt on the passenger side.

And the Driver side

Putting it in improperly leaves a gap that catches the wind, and to fix it, there will be a hole in the plastic if they use the same piece. If I spend $50K for a vehicle I expect everything to be perfect.

Just take a quick look before you take delivery on the product, and if there is a problem, make sure they replace, not repair (unless they offer you an acceptable price reduction) because none of us are buying used/damaged products here.

UPDATE

Diagnosis, .... MISSING CLIPS.

Then they said please come over here to pay for the parts, and I had to remind them that it is a brand new Jeep under warranty (#why I do not like service departments at dealers).

So sorry. I hope you're having a better experience with service and JeepCares than I. Hopefully, they'll have you up and running soon!

I have the same problem. Did they end up fixing it quickly? If I knew exactly what I was looking for I would just go to a hardware store and get a similar clip and save myself the hassle of having it repaired by the dealer
