Just wanted to say if anyone is on the bubble, this is a great upgrade. I'm used to digital rear-view mirrors in the TRX and Corvette and thought I would try this. It's not as clear as those but honestly, the price point and ease of installation are worth it.

The ability to see everything is a game changer for me and it's a front/rear full-time recorder.

The reviews are interesting but I took a leap of faith. The kit is complete and there are youtube videos. It's not hard to install.

I’m glad to hear it’s been a good experience. I’m interested in one as well but haven’t pulled the trigger. Another one I keep getting ads for is Wolfbox

Yep. This is a complete mirror replacement and looks factory. I didn't want to do a clip-on/over. It's oddly upside-down appearance IMO but I've quickly moved past it. It really works well.

How is it at night with someone behind you?

Just a blob of lights at night.

It's better than seeing nothing at all.

A lot of lights start to blend together and you can turn down the contrast.

You can also just flip it off and go to just mirror mode.

After two weeks, I can't see going back to a normal mirror.

Turning it off isn't really an option for me with the 37" spare and fuel cell blocking just about all of the rear window.

I'm the same, hence my switch to the camera. I can't see anything out of my rear window at night time so this at least offers some awareness of what is around me. The brightness level helps, I just wish there was a preset I could push.

UPDATE:
Streaming Media - Toggle NightSight On/Off
Choose: StandardVideo for regular use/EnhancedVideo for crisp color/Evening Light for sunset or dusk lighting conditions

I'll have to play with these settings to see if there's any improvement for nighttime. Guess I should have read the manual :)

Interesting. But I’m still looking for one that’s compatible with the SOS/assist function. The Brandmotion says not compatible. The Wolfbox is much wider than stock so would interfere with the visors.

Those can be relocated on JLs by replacing the air bag display on the area above the mirror.

I can't wait for NHTSA to approve a standard for digital side mirror replacements. Some manufacturers want to go to them, but there's a current requirement for "mirrors" on the side. The center rearview mirror digital replacement gets a pass.

I wonder how water-resistant that Brandmotion rearview mirror is.. I didn't see a IP67 rating on it.. or did I miss it?

I also have the forward collision and adaptive cruise control so the housing is much bigger. So far no aftermarket replacement mirrors work with it. Also haven’t figured out how to get the mirror out without breaking something.

Remove smaller cover. Remove three screws holding mirror bracket. Mirror is removed by 1/8 turn. It's firm. I have same features. Google YouTube video for it.
