Weird. There's still a good inch or two of room from the spinny bits on mine

If that's actually the case, I wonder what else is half 2020, half 2021 on my Jeep? Could I fit the 2020 oil, gas, and transmission skid? Hmm

Are there any diagrams or pictures showing what the differences are? Now I'm worried to buy anything in case I have to return it
None that I have found. Both techs seemed to indicate that this change caught the aftermarket people offguard. I'm also having a helluva time finding other armor, but it has more to do with the 2.0 engine and 2-door...so far.

The front differential is also different, and I haven't found anyone who makes a true skid plate that fits. Rancho says they'll have one to match the one i have on the rear by June. Metal cloak sells a replacement cover with a small armor plate but you also have to replace the track arm. Fun times.
Next Venture Motorsports makes diff skids, here's mine on the front diff., also have there rear diff skid. Solid product. 2021 Rubicon

Nice! I did reach out to Next Venture Motorsports (see post #9 in this thread) and they said they are working on other skid plates for the 2021 2-door JL's as well.

Thanks for the heads up. Now, I have to decide if I want to spend $400 now or take my chances and wait to pay $150 in June when Rancho says they will be shipping theirs.

I too am waiting for Next Venture and others to come out with more skids for the '21 2doors. Hope they make a skid to cover the engine oil pan and the exhaust loop.
Dave
Your welcome, if you keep the stock diff cover, like I did, get there shim/spacer. The skid is made to mate up to a thicker diff cover. It was out of stock and was a pain to use washers to make up the difference. The rear diff skid was simple to install with that shim supplied.
