A random youtuber? It's likely he's talking out of his ass.

Seems legit if you have wires touching a diesel exhaust, especially anywhere near DPF. I don't know how hot Jeeps get, but my F350 would hit around 1,000 degrees on the exhaust sensors when 'cleaning'.

Well, he says the the harness rubs against the exhaust (if you wheel alot) which is what causes the break in the line. I didn't think it was temperature (although I did not watch the entire 3 mins)

I wouldn't call it a fatal flaw, but I had this issue about 300 miles into my 2nd day of ownership. Dash was going WILD, every error under the sun going on. Found a post saying to check that harness near the exhaust. Found mine making contact, tucked it back under the heat shield and it's been good to go since.

This was a heads up for me. Checked the wire loom and it WAS touching the exhaust header and was slightly burned but I never had codes...NOT an easy one to see and would never had known without this post.

It's an easy fix....IF ya know where to look and have a long skinny rod or bar to move the loom away from the header. EVERYONE with a diesel should address this! Immediately...it's no joke.

Fortunately we have a hoist and a shop so there is no crawling around on your back. I can just imagine trying to tell a dumb-ass service writer where to look and relay that to a dumb-ass line mechanic (sorry if you're a line mechanic )….troubleshooting is not their forte.

Is JEEP CARES listening??

Definitely an engineer oversight in relation to electrical coming near contact with a heat source, should've been shielded better.

When I get my 2022 Rubicon Diesel preorder delivered sometime early next year (hopefully), I'll check to see if they implemented a fix for this issue and report back.

The fix is for them to check that the harness is in the correct position when they install it . The jl diesels that have the issue are off by 1/4 inch
