Wow, seems if you didn't have bad luck you'd have no luck at all. Glad you came out of this in one piece even if some of the pieces had to be pinned together. Your attitude is nothing short of amazing, I would have gone ballistic with a 23 hour old beautiful Jeep messed up like that. I don't know how the driver of the trash truck didn't see you unless of course he was distracted by a phone or something similar. BTW, I just called the dealer and told him to change the color of my on order JLRU from Firecracker red to white.

I hope you not only get a new JL, but a new "paid off" JL out of it.

Update: The jeep definitely did it’s job. I have more. The safety cage kept me from makin head contact with the truck, which needless to say would not have been good. It bent to top of the cage down and transferred energy all the way to the rear where it broke open. If I had still been in my old jk or tj the investigator said I would probably been a fatality. I received a fractured skull, brain bleed, bruised lung and sternum ( air bag), and fractured wrist that got a nice new plate and 5 screws. But I’m alive and have just been cleared by the neurologist to drive my 2nd new JLU. Would I change anything in the order? As a matter of fact My wife and I flew 850 miles to Daytona Beach to pick up the exact optioned and colored Rubi 15 days ago. She got to drive it home and break it in on the beach, since the doc wouldn’t let me.

I am very glad to learn that you are okay. Head injuries can be really tough to recover from.. but in time you will feel back to 100%!

That jeep did us all proud. Protected a forum friend from what probably would have been a different story in MOST other vehicles on the road. Hope you are back to having some fun in a JL soon.

Not to sound cliche, but I hope you sue the HELL OUT OF THEM. The only way to hurt the city is through their pockets which in turn they will punish the careless driver.

They should donate this to the factory and have it in the showroom with your story. Glad it kept you alive. Jeep on!
