For those surprised by the price, keep in mind that there’s a huge import tax and VAT applied to the final price. Assuming our dealer gets the car at say 60000 USD from FCA, they pay almost 30000 USD in taxes and they have to turn some profit as well. Actually selling a car without any aftermarket upgrades (like noise isolation, coatings, etc) is a fairly low-margin affair. That’s also the reason why some major car brands, like VAG, BMW and Mercedes try to establish production lines for their most popular cars here in Russia, that way there’s no need to pay the import tax at least, which adds around 15% to the price.
