Did I just find fossilized trash left behind by the factory?

Last night I removed the driver's side kick panel in my '18 JLUR, and I lifted up the carpet. I saw what appeared to be a loose green plastic strap, about a couple feet in length, just hanging out under the carpet. Interestingly it was partly stuck/embedded into the floor of the jeep itself. I had to give it a pretty good yank and when it popped out from the floor, there was about a thumbnail width ~1 centimeter deep impression left in the metal (or is it a coating?) of the floor itself. Look at the top of the strap where there's an indention in the floor.

So does anyone have any guesses where this strap came from at the Jeep plant, and how it ended up there at a point where it was able to embed itself into the floor and (presumably) go unnoticed by anyone between that stage and whenever the carpet was put in?

Hopefully one of the Toledo plant employees can chime in and let you what that remnant came from.

Have you pulled it yet?

Looks like the passenger ejection rip cord
