Like a lot of people, I wanted to have a some spares of every fuse that the Jeep has. After some research, I have discovered that we have an assortment of the following fuses:

MCASE Cartridge fuses
MCASE+ Cartridge fuses
MICOR2 fuses

All of these fuses are trademarked by Littlefuse. See attached pictures and spec sheets.

You can purchase some of these in the following locations.

The current ratings are all over the place. So, I just purchased some of each. I also found a set on EBAY and Amazon (not Littlefuse) that had an assortment. I used the actual Littlefuse Commercial Assortment for the MICRO2 fuses.

Wanted to contribute to a useful thread.
The owners manual only lists Cartridge and Micro. On the underside of the lid of the Power Distribution Center (PDC), N1 thru N8 are listed as high current fuses, but no location is shown and no Amp rating is listed. I suspect they are the terminals across the top.

Here is the variety in the Fusebox: (from the owners manual)
Options on your Jeep determine the actual number of fuses.
Cartridge
20 A Blue 6 ea.
30 A Pink 13 ea.
40 A Green 7 ea.
50 A Red 1 ea.
60 A Yellow 1 ea.

Micro
5 A Tan 3 ea.
10 A Red 29 ea.
15 A Blue 12 ea.
20 A Yellow 30 ea.
25 A Clear 2 ea.

I have not figured out which type of cartridge fuse is used where.
The 20,30,40 A are available in both mcase and mcase+ . One of the differences seems to be unslotted and slotted. Both types are time delay.
The 50 A and 60 A are only available in mcase plus.
The 50 A F106 is for speed control pump -Adaptive cruise control?
The 60 A F83 is for the glow plug on the Diesel
I have not pulled any out to see if I can tell the difference. My " if it is not broke don't fix it" took over.

Not a stupid question at all. It is very confusing, and people are using the wrong terminology when talking about fuses.

See this page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuse_(automotive)

and this page:
https://www.littelfuse.com/products/fuses/automotive-passenger-car/blade-fuses.aspx

A lot of people have muddied the waters by calling the mini fuses as micro or micro low profile. They are not. I could not find a 'micro' fuse without a number behind it i.e. micro2 or micro3 used in automotive applications. There are some 'micro' fuses, but they are PCB mount and are soldered in.

Thank you. I’ll order the micro2 fuses listed above.

Love the Wikipedia link and the reference to Lucas. Beeeeeeeeen there, done that .

I gather you have the tow package on your JLU so you needed a 54AA. No tow package you use the 53AA

Anyone that does not have the tow package and wants a 68368853AA, I have a new one in a factory sealed bag, that I will sell you for $37, (way cheap) which includes shipping to you in Continental, USA.

Yes, I have the tow package. Your other thread is what prompted my order. Thanks!

I'm in the process of putting together some spare fuses & wanted to clarify something BEFORE I buy the wrong items:
in your image above, the "mcase" fuse you show is more square than the Mcase +. one of the links to the mcase fuses on amazon shows the more square fuse for the mcase...BUT!
if you use the pdf's linked in your post, the mcase and mcase+ are the same, dimensionally, with the exception of the + being slotted.
possible that the sellers on amazon are confused? seems that the image above more closely represents the jcase fuses as opposed to the mcase.
any of this make sense?
even littlefuse shows the mcase and mcase+ being roughly the same, with the exception of the slots
and according to the image on the second page of this link, it looks as though the fuse shown in your image is actually a jcase
