I'm in the imminent market for a 2-door JL, and the #1 criteria is a clutch pedal. Beyond that, I wheel at around 8,000ft up a mountain, so a forced-induction motor is very compelling to me...particularly with the torque numbers the Hurricane (or whatever they're calling it) is putting out.

Before I buy, is there any indication that the 4-cylinder turbo motor will be put in front of a manual transmission this year?

That is correct. The 2.0 Hurricane is only available with the 8 speed and there are no indications that it'll change in the near future.

The hybrid BSG system requires an automatic transmission to do its thing.

While that's true of conventional hybrids, it isn't true for BSG systems. There's no engineering reason why a BSG system can't be mated to a manual.

If this is true, then the 2019 Pentastar with BSG will not be offered with a manual either? I doubt this will be the case. I wish the 2.0T was offered with a manual transmission.
