Haven't I read a few places where folks were having an issue offroad where they'd fire up their Jeep and would get a false indication that the DEF was almost empty when it wasn't? I'm betting that is what this will end up addressing. Maybe a new float valve in the DEF tank or maybe just a software update or something.

All just my speculation since I don't see anything posted online about a Y81 recall yet.

I suspect the pump is dumping DEF too much which is why some people get such terrible mpg of DEF

Under the parts section It mentions a DEF injector needed.

Start date was 1/19. DEF inducement issues. My wife's '21 JLURD does not have that code coming up as an issue. IMO I agree it's something in the DEF pump.

No codes for me. But man can you smell the DEF being injected.

I have an appointment for the Y81 Wednesday at 1:30. I was under the impression from the service booking agent that it was just a re-flash.

I will let you guys know how I make out.

I follow Casey250 (canadian) on YouTube. He has had some issues with diesel. From what he has said on his channel, he burns DEF up 2x or more faster than I do and hes had issues with the jeep not starting because it thinks the DEF tank is empty when it is half full. Probably fixes these issues.

I watch my DEF level on my Banks iDash, and it fluxuates a lot, 20-30% difference for min/max. Clearly the sensor is in the back right because it will drop a little on right turns and drops a lot when parked downhill. I've been watching it because of the issues he's had.

OK just got back from the Y81 recall seems it was just PCM re-program. Covered under warranty.
Only cost me a windshield - I saw the rock comming even ducked - like that would make a difference.
Does anyone know if you can get a replacement that doesn't have a rock magnet? This is the second big hit in 2 weeks.

just got a call from my dealership. They just want to reprogram the PCM. They got a mobile unit coming out next week. Hopefully it doesn't change the consumption of it. I'm not using a whole lot of it.
