Checked out deer park road on the west side for the first time. Coming from Greenlake it was a bit of a trek, but well worth the efforts. Jumped on Kingston ferry and got there in about an hr. Nice mix of dirt, mud, and even snow right now. The view at the peak is pretty amazing. The difficultly of the drive is mild at best, but a good place to build some trust in the new 2.0L. Let me know if anyone has any other sites they recommended. I'm a noob and looking for some trails to learn on. Thanks

The web says the road is 18 miles long but the road is closed at the park boundary at 9 miles. Is this as far as you were able to go?

I didn't pay attention to the mileage, but I was able to pass the camping site and reach the top parking spot. I didnt see any additional roads, but its possible. I would be thrilled if there was another 9 miles to drive on. Definitely going back in the summer to camp up there.

There are a lot of trails around yakima from easy to difficult. Most have signs designating the how difficult they are. Lots of free camping as well.
