Dee Zee rack for Roof Top Tents

My rear gasket touches the clamp on the drip rail when I open or close the door. I’ve been monitoring it for long term effects: no issues after well over a year of having this rack on the top

Ok. I am experiencing the same thing. It barely touches, and the fact that you have had no problem makes me feel better.

Now I’m going to tinker with putting 4 clamps on each gutter in the back. Im not sure how other people have done it since the gutter has a curve to it. We shall see. Maybe it could decrease the stress on the gutters.

You have to bend the tube a bit, it's a two man job. One to hold the tube and mild clamp in place while the other forces the back end in place and clamp it down.

Anyone tried to install a platform or a basket rack to DeeZee roof rack? I'm considering Rhino SRM500 but I'm not sure if it will work with DeeZee roof rack.

Just installed a Trustmade RTT to the DeeZee racks. Added blue loctite to every bolt as some others suggested. Very important to put some also on the little support feet. Took it out this weekend in some rugged and rutted trails. Performed solid. No issues.

Got mine last week! I used all 4 points since I won be using the fronts (my father is insane with things like this and thus has made me insane too), however, I am going to move them so there are 2 in front and 2 in back, where they state to put them. I was a little tired doing this the night before I had to leave for a camping trip. Roam awning fits perfectly. I'm going to flip the brackets like someone else did in a previous post though, or get the ARB since they look a little better. I lash strapped my traction boards to the top with some DeeZee tie downs. I'm going to look into a better solution for that but will have to move around the crossbars so itll fit. Will update once I make a Home Depot run if anyone is interested. Overall, this thing is awesome. 2 hour drive at 65-75mph, and had zero issue with any ridiculous wind noise. So far I highly recommend. Next is a RTT. I'll be using this for my kayaks as well.

You were able to put all 4 clamps on each side?? I cannot seem to do that because my hardtop edge is not straight. Did you have that problem too?

I was able to yes, i attached them all to the side bar first, left everything loose, then lifted the side bar up and tightened one bolt each on the middle two, then, still lifting, tightened the outside ones.

have you put RTT on yet and how did it go with it and a canopy? Which RTT are you using

I just got Ironman Swift 1400 and double checking to make sureit will be fine asRTT is rated I think at 215

It should be as long as your tent isn’t long enough to reach the front 24” section. I have the RTT clamped down to 3 sets of crossbars. I initially had it clamped to just the rear 2, but it was bouncing/slapping on one of the front 24” cross bars on bumps.
My tent is roughly 140 lbs.

Haven’t gotten an RTT yet as I’ve been debating between like 3 of them. Made my dumbass miss all the Black Friday deals because I couldn’t decide.

Thank you. Ironman is 215 and 91 long. I guess I would need to install front piece.

Racks hold up well over a 12 day overland trip into Utah and Colorado.

These racks have been on my Jeep for about a year - across all 4 seasons. If you did the due diligence when installing and have all bolts done with blue loctite you should have no issues

I had an issue where the feet that touch the top rubbed off all of the paint on one side before I noticed and on the other 3 it's bad but not gone. That was hugely disappointing. Did you remove the feet?
