Debadged mine today and it was a PIA.... Mine must have had some ant-debadge glue applied at the factory :P..

Took about 3 hours total with a blow dryer and goo-gone.. The Unlimited Sport stickers were easy and quick but the JEEP letters on the sides? Nope!

Heated each letter up one at a time and removed after heating. This still left a very, very, very thick amount of tape behind. That tape was suck on and then stuck on some more. After about 2 1/2 hours I had them all removed only to find the driver side still had the JEEP outline showing when viewed at a certain angle in the sun. Almost like it had baked into the paint... SMH! Grabbed some rubbing compound then buffed it out...

Was it worth 3 hours? NO! But once I started I was determined to finish it up..

I always figured that people mask and spray - not remove dip and reinstall.
On the JK there was nothing but I've heard there is an antenna hole under the trail rated badge on the JL. I have a powder coated badge I'd like to put on but not if I am going to run into a real issue. has anyone removed the JL trail rated badge?

If not - plasti-dip here I come

I wish I would have seen and paid attention to this - I have the last layer to go after three hours

You will probably have some letter ghosting too like I did... Use some rubbing compound to get rid of it if you do...

Just debadged my JLUR. I did it within 2 weeks of getting it so there was very slight ghosting (you had to actually look for it). I plan on using a rubbing compound to get the ghosting off.

Since I peeled the stickers off pretty soon after getting my jeep and did it after sitting in the heat all day, I didn't even need to use a heat gun. I just peeled them all off. There was residue left, but I used 3M Adhesion Remover (meant for paint) and it came off without a problem. Just keep in mind what you take the residue/stickers off with as you can scratch your paint. One option if you have a drill is to use a decal remover wheel. Example here: https://www.amazon.com/Whizzy-Wheel-Decal-Remover-Adapter/dp/B00FJF0O2K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1531431853&sr=8-2&keywords=sticker+wheel

I removed the Jeep badges from the side of my JLU and plasti-dipped the Trail Rated badge today. Thought some of you may want to see what it looks like without them!
