It definitely does not feel good. I really hope it does get addressed. I've always owned Jeeps but have never had this many issues before.

As for the tire pressure, I was at 34 during the time of filming. It was a cold day and the PSI dropped a little bit causing the light to come on. I did check the PSI shortly before filming which was at the higher level due to warming up. I've since added additional air to the tires but I didn't have low PSI when the issue started.
Update: Still does it with tires inflated up to full PSI

Update to my situation. Sent a pic into the dealer of my steering stabilizer which (151 which indicates it needs replacement). He said the part is ordered and on back order and will let me know when it's in. I asked if I should bring the Jeep in just to have all the tires, track bar, etc. checked, which seems logical. However, he declined and said to bring it in when the stabilizer arrives. This leads me to believe Jeep is very confident this particular death wobble issue is because of a bad stabilizer....

Since so many have found loose connections - ball joint nuts, track bar bolts, etc., it would be a good idea to have everything checked for proper torque when you bring it in to get the steering stabilizer replaced. Did they give you an ETA on the back ordered steering stabilizer?

He said "no eta." Sigh. I did check my bolts and at least they aren't hand-loose like some have reported, which is just crazy.

Are you still waiting on the dealer to correct your issue? It seems that most JL owners with this issue, are still waiting on a new stabilizer or track bar. If you don't feel like waiting, and don't mind spending your own money to fix this issue, the Fox or Falcon stabilizer have been working for others. My issue was resolved with the Steer Smarts YETI Track Bar & Falcon Nexus 2.2 Stabilizer. I'm glad that I didn't wait, especially since I didn't feel comfortable driving over 55 mph.

I was thinking about getting an aftermarket stabilizer, and was curious what the consensus is on the best budget friendly stabilizer is from those who have had success with them? Stock height and plan to stay that way for a while.

Hi there. I'm currently waiting on the OEM replacement stabilizer but have also ordered a Falcon for my backup plan. My question is since the FCA identified certain stabilizers as faulty, why are you replacing the track bar as well?

I had to have my gas tank replaced at 800 miles. When I came to pick it up...the service manager mentioned that the district manager had instructed them to check/tighten the steering system. He commented that they had to tighten the ball joints and other bolts because they were unacceptably loose. Luckily, I had not had a DB yet.

What was wrong with your gas tank?

Have had DW for quite some time now. I've replaced stabilizer 3 times, and it always works at first. About 3-5k miles of DD and wheeling, and the stab starts to go bad. As it goes bad the shimmy gets more pronounced until the DW returns.

I dont believe it's the stabilizer, I believe the stabilizer is being thrown into overdrive due to other factors which is causing premature wear.

Fairly confident the fact that they switched to aluminum knuckles and hollow/thin walled tie rod and drag links is what's causing all these DW reports lately. The stabilizer is picking up the slack caused by the lightened steering components. I truly believe the only way we are going to see this go away is with aftermarket drag links and tie rods. Something to beef up the steering and lessen the load the stabilizer is taking on.

What was wrong with your gas tank?
Jeep forgot to connect the tank air breather line...so it lay on the bottom of the tank. Its hole through the top of the tank, therefore, was not sealed.
The first time I filled the tank, about a gallon of gas poured out onto my driveway. Luckily, the engine and exhaust system were still cold. Then, when it was hauled into the dealer, another gallon poured onto the service bay floor. Jeep authorized a tank, fuel pump and evaporative canister replacement. They also checked and tightened the steering along with the loose front suspension including ball joints.

Wow glad you were OK with that one! No fun having a gas leak!

1. Did you replace the steering stabilizer with the OEM version? And did any of them have the new -AD code in the part number (new as of early November 2018 I believe)?
2. What were the date codes on each the steering stabilizers that you tried (if they were OEM)?
