Dear FCA:

I just got back from a trip to Costa Rica. My intention is NOT to brag, but rather to suggest that you make your rigs available for rental in this beautiful mountainous country where paved roads are sometimes, particularly outside cities, less than omnipresent, as sure as rain and mud is.

The people coming to this land on vacation, by definition, are apt to have some discretionary $ to spend, and one major path to a vehicle's ownership is to love it as a rental.

Just sayin'.....

I love Costa Rica and this is a fantastic idea. The last two trips we went during rainy season and we rented a Mitsubishi Montero Sport and some small Isuzu model that’s not sold here, can’t remember which model it was. Both were extremely capable. But not able to drop top or doors.

In the mountains or the beach people would pay top dollar for a JL wrangler. I would have. But I don’t think it’s Jeep that’s the problem. It’s very expensive to import them from the US to put into a rental fleet. Possibly cost prohibitive.
