What year JL did you get? You might wish you did buy the extended warranty haha
No rush to buy a extended warranty. You can buy one up until the 36 month bumper-to-bumper expires. Plus it's usually a lot cheaper from a discounted dealer.

FCA has changed the pricing structure of the Mopar and as such the price increases at 12,000 miles, 24,000 miles and at 36,000 miles. The price from a discounted dealer increases about $300 once you reach each level. I just bought the 7 year unlimited plan since I was at 23,600 miles prior to 10 months of ownership. I definitely recommend looking on the forum for the discounted dealers as you would save over $1000.

I know some people will not buy an extended warranty and I understand the rational, but in my experience the extended warranty on previous vehicles was paid for with the first issue.

Just call Criswell. They'll get back to you today 8% under invoice
Thank you but I need to buy off the lot to get 0% financing.
Do the math. If you borrow 50K at 4% with them as opposed to 0% with FCA your losing 4% each year. And Family pricing is about 4% below invoice. So you break even year 1 and your ahead every future year not using Criswell. I found my car with an extra $1,100 in options i dont want, but 0% is too good to pass up.

My rationale has always been that when it comes time to get the first oil change it is just quicker to buy a new one so I don't think I would ever use an extended warranty.

That's honestly how some people roll, it seems.

Well, I scored. I got a 2020 Rubicon diesel JL in Punk'n loaded with everything but the One Touch Sky top. Found a dealer outside of Little Rock that had just what we wanted, made a deal over the phone and we're flying in on Saturday to have a roadtrip home for a week or so. It was $65k on the sticker, we got it for $59k OTD. I still pay T&L of course. Having sold my big Ram Cummins (it was paid off) for a great price, it makes it a bit less painful. Given how hard it was to locate and how few there were just like we wanted, I feel good.

JFYI, I also got a call from my local dealer that I could place an order because the plants are fireing up.

Congratulations and you will have a blast on the road trip. My wife and our girls did that when we bought out of state. Actually drove through Oregon and Nevada from Idaho to Arizona. Will be taking the Jeep to Utah and Colorado assuming things open up a bit more by July.

Be safe and you will love the Jeep.

...credit score takes a small hit every time someone pulls ... credit.
It sure does. But if the hits are within the same industry over the course of 30days, those hits get consolidated into one and credit score may go down a point, two or a few.

Credit is for major purchases like this. I wouldn’t have made the recommendation to pull credit unless I felt that the OP was serious. Looks like he was.

Do yourself a favor and check out the Hot Springs ORV park while you are that close. Great place to try out your new ride. Trails mild to wild

By limiting your options, it does put the dealer in charge. The particular VIN you have may be listed on several dealer pages, who all work together and "share" inventory listings. It's not 100% honest but I ran into it with my 2020 Willys purchase. Only found 3 Jeeps that met my criteria, and found one of them listed on 3 sites, same VIN.

That said, if you can determine which dealer actually has that model, there are deals to be had. The dealer I bought from had 2 Willys with the features I wanted. I did see the price drop another $1000 from what I paid (4% under invoice, which ain't bad for SoCal.) But the other one got snapped up at that price within a week, so I could've missed out.
