Not even a bottle of water. A hat, a key chain, all expenses they don’t want to incur unless they absolutely lose-the-sale have to.
I looked around a very rich Mercedes dealer to view their high prices . Their lounge for service customers had a cashier to charge for everything : coffee , snacks , etc . Nothing free , despite their very rich success .

Oh , and they had a sign with their price of their smog check : $ 195 . (Costs $ 35 . at a smog check gas station .)

While purchasing my JL, I was waiting for a ridiculouslty long period. Salesman asks “would you like something to drink? Water?” Sure, Ok.

He brings me a bathroom-size dixie cup of tap water. High-class.

They want to give you nothing! Not even a bottle of water. A hat, a key chain, all expenses they don’t want to incur unless they absolutely lose-the-sale have to.
Those are usually the old school churn-and-burn dealerships. They do not care about sales retention. This is slowly changing. FCA is following the model of other brands in a effort to build a customer base. . As a incentive, I believe FCA offers some assistance if the dealers's customer service surveys are positive? Many dealers have built new modern buildings and are investing into their future. The level of perceived customer service is improved at many of these dealers. I noticed some FCA dealerships have the "Lexus" complementry snack bars and modern waiting areas. They provide free loaner cars, free bottled water, expresso, coffee, fresh baked cookies, pastries, fresh fruit, popped popcorn in the waiting areas. Can't get something for nothing though. There is a cost to the customers for the freebies and better service. It's harder to get a net-net deal from them.

@Swanny297 I see you point under certain situations, and don't see it under others.

You're better half orders a pumpernickel loaf from the local bakery. You're asked to pick it up, (it's prepackaged) you do, and when you get home and open the bag, it's a rye. This is a bakery you've dealt with for ages--you know they just made an honest mistake. So while doing further errands you swing back to the bakery and they exchange it with apologies..
WTF does this have to do with the dealership realizing at some point they were about to sell him someone’s else’s custom order?

I don’t have a bone in this but it couldn’t have been that inconvient if he allowed the same dealership to rush order what he wanted.

I don't know about most people but my life is CRAZY BUSY
Just a tip . Even though your life is 'crazy busy' , be sure to be very very careful in choosing a medical professional for anything important . Always always get a second opinion from a specialist .

....164,000 sales in US for FCA. About 2500 dealerships. Average 65 sales per dealership per month. Average 2-3 cars per day? Again, they can’t keep this straight? The OP may be an extreme case of selling a vehicle (well almost) to the wrong person. But there are lesser screw ups all the time. Fail.
Ooooo! +1 on this!!! This analysis brings everything into perspective!

Does anyone walk into Walmart to buy some groceries and ask for some freebies because they are buying something there? Just curious.

Just not sure why a dealer is different than every other retail store out there? No business that I am aware of gives free stuff just for doing business at that location. This is a genuine question and not a troll.

I feel you on this, but imo this is nowhere near a grocery-situation...

The amount of time it takes to get groceries isn't as time-consuming as negotiating a price with a dealership about a trade-in, exchanging a large sum of money (deposit), reviewing paperwork, discussing delivery options, etc. all the things that occur when purchasing a new vehicle. The OP was convinced this vehicle was his when all of these exchanges and negotiations took place. Then to have someone tell you, "sorry, this vehicle is already sold to someone else" totally wastes his time, his effort, destroys the excitement that comes along with the new-car buying process. I'm glad they told him because it was someone else's vehicle but that still doesn't make up for the incompetence and laziness on their part with regards to the OP.

Now for the follow-up...he has to wait until his Jeep is built whereas when he first came to the dealership, he didn't entertain a "build order". So that's more time wasted. Then he had to make sure that his original negotiation w/regards to his trade-in was honored. More time, more stressed associated with this "mistake". So he should be compensated for their mistake.

So in my mind, if i go to a grocery store: #1 the groceries are there...there's no special order. I pick up what i want and i put it in my basket. #2. I go to the checkout and I pay for it and I'm done. That literally takes less than one hour (and for me like 15minutes because I hate the grocery store! LOL).

To me, there's no comparison here...it's like comparing buying oranges to buying a car.

Also, restaurants do give you "freebies" when they make a mistake on your order/food. Sometimes they will remove a charge and give you a gift card or credit for the mistake made. So, ye, it happens and without the customer asking for it.

Yep , all of the above are good . And stay away from "non-medical" , such as "acupuncture" , "herbs" , "chiropract" , etc .

You will want an actual American Medical Specialist , board certified , on staff at a top hospital . I have heard many good things about medical staff at Baylor St. Lukes -or- St.Lukes Baylor in the Houston area .

Just about every place I shop “rewards” me for being a customer. Discounts, free items, cash back. “Just about every place...”. except Walmart.

MANY JEEPS!
Yep. I just picked her up this afternoon. I had every intention of haggling for some sort of freebie, but the traffic their was terrible after a long work day. It was hot. They still honored the 6-week old trade-in value of the Denali that they let me drive the entire time (even though they owned it).

I did get a free keychain though!
Congrats, Denalis are sweet man what made you downsize?
