Dead pedal protection for those of us who like to drive in Reefs

Anyone know if there is a rubber slip-on pad for the typical dead pedal dimensions? I snagged my foot on my dead pedal wearing reef sandals the other day and thought that would be bad/worse if it was part of an accident. Just thinking out loud here. Yes, I own actual shoes, but summer is coming and the Reefs come out too. Just curious. Thanks.

I haven’t gotten a dead pedal yet but heard they were a bit of a hassle to install. Maybe remove it and plastic dip? I wear Chacos all Summer so they don’t slip off my foot and have good tread but usually that foot is out the door on a peg. I was claustrophobic the first week of winter with the doors back on.

Dead pedals are not hard to install. Just take your time and stuff a towel behind it.

Not true. Reefs yes. Birkenstock or other brown leather sandals, no. First Jeep was an ‘89 YJ in Hawaii back in ‘97. Reef sandals.

I bought a Quadratec dead peadle. You take off one nut, put the dead pedal on,and put the nut back on. super easy. It is adjustable. It's metal, but has holes cut in it for traction. Haven't tried to drive with sandals because I'm a dude but I don't think slipping would be an issue.

In an accident? Sandals, flip-flops, thongs, if you’re Hawaiian—slippers, flo-hos, etc. I’ll find a solution.

get some anti slip tape and trim it to size

also i support sandals wearing 24/7 (unless steel/closed toes are required by work) even in the dead of winter. 99% of my garage work done in flip flops

How about some spray paint that has the sand/texture inside - usually used for spraying steps so when they get wet you don't slip on them?
