Nice! Welcome! If you're looking for a Jeep club to join consider NoVA Jeepers (www.novajeepers.net). We have members from MD, DC, VA, WV & PA. I joined 4 years ago and now I'm the VP of the club. It's an awesome, family friendly club!

Or you could check out Southern MD Jeepers. I don't believe they have a website?? but they have a Facebook page.

Anyone have good recommendations for a paint/body shop in the DMV? I'm looking to get my black stock JLU hardtop painted to match the body color of my Jeep. I'm in the Vienna, VA area, but willing to drive for the right spot. Thanks!

Hey Dave, I live in Reston and work in Ashburn - I'll let you know the next time I am heading out - possibly next Friday - PM if you are interested!

@steelerpsugirl & @MBurgJL I've been doing some digging and there's not a lot of public info. I've found that the 4x4 clubs that post runs are a good way to learn just by lurking around a bit.

The best as far as details is CORE 4x4;
Here's their page - http://core4x4.org/
And here's some good detail on Flagpole Knob, a run I'd like to do soon: http://core4x4.org/flagpole-knob/
Here's the rest of the runs they've posted: http://core4x4.org/trail-reports/

NOVA Jeepers also has info, though you have to dig a bit more: https://novajeepers.net/

Yet another is Black Goat Off Road - https://www.blackgoatoffroad.com/

The tricky part about the clubs is they often use trail names, which don't show in google - I've found that cross referencing the USDA fire service maps helps clear things up a bit sometimes. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/gwj/maps-pubs/?cid=fsbdev3_000547

I wish there was better info but that's the reality of getting out there - you need to do it to know it.

Well, until someone writes a book like the one I had in California: https://www.ebay.com/i/222830142560?chn=ps&fl=a

If anyone is interested in trying Flagpole Knob in the coming months let me know. I'm down.
I'll definitely go back to Flagpole- I just hit it about a month ago with my friend. Easy to find, and one section you def need a spotter as your rear passenger is in a bowl and can slide out into a large tree, and another section has you completely flexed out, even in the Rubi. Have fun if you go and be advised, there is another more technical and deeper mud pit trail very close by called Second Mountain - harder to find but a great ride. Also know ther is a great car wash on the way back into downtown Harrisonburg, VA from either location- USE it cause the clay there is intense

Visited the VA side of Chincoteague this weekend and had a blast. Recommend it to all jeepers. Permit process was easy, required equipment straight forward, internet was clear and accurate on what to expect and how to prepare. Family loved the trip. We stayed in town at a hotel, 10min drive to the pass office, get there early as the office opens at 9am and the 4WD section of the beach was full by 10am. The sand was a bit challenging near the entrance then reasonably easy the rest of the beach.

The 4WD section of the beach was wide open while the public section was absolutely packed with people for Memorial Day.

Picked up my first Jeep on 5/25. Currently patrolling around the BWI area. This picture is already out of date as I got a stubby antenna as I grew tired of the CB radio flippy floppy.
