I need to mount my larger screen GPS unit to the dash. The Garmin OEM Jeep GPS does not accept GPX trail files...nor does it save GPX files. I ordered the Rugged Ridge JL Dash Mount System but found out that it was not designed for the Rubicon JL with the larger 8.4 screen. The unit requires a three depression center tray with a center attaching screw. The Rubicon has essentially a single depression and no attachment screw. In addition, the center tray is so close to the windshield, that the RR system does not have enough room to mount anything larger than a standard cell phone.
The Vector bar system is still not available for the JL...especially the Rubicon which does not have a central attaching bolt.
Has anyone tried to mount their larger screen device, GPS, tablet, etc. to the JL Rubicon dash? If so...what did you use as a mounting system?
