DANA Plant closing in KY

I’m not really sure where to place this little bit of info. The DANA manufacturing plant in Glasgow KY will be auctioning all equipment starting on March 19 and ending March 21
The website is www.go-dove.com and the auction number is 502180
There are a lot of industrial manufacturing equipment but also tools and tool boxes and I believe workbenches etc. I think there’s some pretty interesting stuff there

First thing I thought about were a set of 60`s Then also have a piece of equipment in Mexico
Dana is/was building a new plant if I remember correctly

Well, they built a big operation in Toledo and I believe I read somewhere they are expanding it.

Yep. Dana Toledo is ramping up. My company does some controls / automation work for them.

Coincidentally, I was just in Lafayette Indiana and driving down Sagamore Parkway I see that our local Oerlikon plant is now a Dana plant. I have no idea if it will relate spicer differentials or other Jeep related products.

I wonder why they closed this plant. As guy before me said, a lot of people worked there and it was a big problem for them. My uncle was one of these people. He says that the whole story was about corruption and too expensive equipment. He told me that if they buy something less expensive - something like professional industrial equipment from Grape this plant would be online even now. I don't know if it's truth, but maybe it is. We can't say it right now for sure.

How did the virus shut down manufacturing in March of 2019 (around 9 months before the first reported cases)

Hasn't that closure been offset by all the expansion elsewhere? If the Bronco is going to run the Dana rear axle, I'd think that would require more capacity at the Toledo facility, which is producing the Wrangler and I think Colorado axles.
