Hello everyone,

I was able to get this spec sheets from DANA today.

M210 and M220 are included below.

If you need anymore specs, you can reach out to Dana below:

Another member posted these sheets, as well. A couple are duplicated, but there's more data here: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...-gear-torque-and-tqtr-specs.22854/post-710999

Have you guys noticed the difference between what DANA shows on the two PDF files and what others are quoting here and elsewhere? The difference on quoted backlash is significant. I spoke with a gear tech yesterday and he stated that he would only use these tight specs for Genuine DANA gears. Also, it is very easy to find the spec sheets from DANA. search for differential type and click the "Literature page"

M210 page:
https://www.danaaftermarket.com/spi...0&str=M210&cp=0&catalog=PIMS_NA&partType=PART

Per DANA PDF for M210:
Ring Gear Backlash ................................0.003” – 0.006”

Dana changed the spec from when they initially provided spec sheets. Also all gear manufacturers will spec out their own backlash setting.

I'm not sure it's worth the difference unless you're looking to just get rid of the composite ball bearing cage. I put the ball bearing style back in mine and I've ran to California and back, wheeled like a mofo, with a trailer behind me. I wouldn't worry about upgrading unless you just want peace of mind to make yourself stop worrying.
How much of a difference does it make between having the angular-contact ball bearing and the tapered roller bearing?
Is it worth the 180$ difference?
I ran across this old thread, is there an upgrade to get rid of the composite bearing and go to a angular contact bearing? Looking at possibly doing this on my 2021 JLU Willys.
