Here's a video of my initial JLU setup and overland build, and some talking points as a former JKU owner

Added some more Yakima accessories to the rack. Extended it with the LoadWarrior extension, added shovel and Hi-lift mounting brackets, and their Slim Shady awning. Everything is working well together. IMG_1531.jpgIMG_1532.jpgIMG_1533.jpg

Here's the install video and some talking points on the Yakima accessories

I really like that awning! What would you guess your total weight in the roof is as it sits? I am debating getting a set of 37s to use for trips to Moab etc. (my daily will be 35” KO2). I was thinking of a roof mount carrier for the 37 so I don’t have to get the back support. But with the weight of the wheel and tire, I’ll be limited at what else I can add.

Can you post links for your setup? It's exactly what I've been shopping for!
    Thanks!

With the LoadWarrior + Extension, Hi-LIft Bracket + Hi-Lift Extreme, Shovel Bracket + Shovel, and Slim Shady awning, I'm at around 100 lbs, leaving me around 50# of storage. For my purposes, I'm rarely carrying all those tools together. When I am fully loaded like that, I'm using that extra 50# for large, bulky, but light items, like a Camp Chef aluminum table, camp chairs, a Plano bin with sleeping bags and sleeping pads and such.

Yakima makes a spare tire mount for that rack and I used it as such on top of a Winnebago Travato RV to carry a spare on the roof. I think you might be pushing it though with a spare 37 tire -- if you're wanting to carry all those accessories and tools like I have also. Just drop the Hi-Lift + mount, and that's an extra 35 lbs of storage.

The absolute last thing in the world you’d want to do is put spare tire on your roof. Aside from the obvious that it looks ridiculous, think about how much fun it’ll be to try and heft 100 plus pounds of wheel over six feet in the air. The of course there is the whole center of gravity thing...

Got some trail time at the TN Mountains Jeep Jamboree. Everything worked great, got some flex time, got some locker time. Back in the garage now with just some skid plate dings and rock rash on the wheels. FullSizeRender-1.jpgIMG_1639.jpg
