If your door is open and driver side belt is undone, the vehicle will go into park. It will sound like death but is designed to not damage the vehicle.

It's designed so you can't get out and get run over by your own vehicle.

Funny, when I park in a shopping lot, I back the car in and open the door looking back...lol...thats when it happened...I guess a car wash will be an issue and I now have to park with the door closed or open it with my seatbelt on...Jeez...hahaha

Why wouldn't you use the backup camera? Not judging, just curious.

And what are you using in the car wash?

it’s a habit when I park in between lines and in my garage. It’s just a thought if I bring it to a car wash and they ask me to step out of my Jeep

I use the backup camera when backing into a parking spot. I wasn't comfortable with it at first but now I usually get it centered and straight the first attempt.

For the touchless car (Jeep) wash, when I get out and hand the fob to the attendant, I reach in and buckle the seat belt.

Right on. Car washes are clearly different where you are than here! No attendants here, and we stay in our vehicles unless it's a do-it-yourself wash.
