Cutting Sport Fender Flares

I was wondering if anyone has cut their sport flares to fit a fender chop kit? I imagine it can be done but wanting to see if anyone has done it and has pointers.

there is a post about this with the rubicon fenders. but people where talking about the sport fenders. i was planning on giving it a try but i want to make sure i have a back up set on hand to replace the cut ones if i dont like it lol
