Hey all,
So we received the FCA "Customer Satisfaction Notification" by snail mail today regarding the 2018 JL steering issue and wobble that I am sure has already been discussed ad nauseam in many threads. Yet I still can't help but to ask a basic question: Since we have not experienced this problem, should we have the free 'repair' (steering damper) done as part of basic maintenance next time we take it in for service?
I guess I'm an "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" kinda guy, but if I understand things correctly, the improved steering damper is somehow better able to mute resonance oscillations at certain temperatures and speeds if it becomes an issue. I guess what I am asking is whether there is any reason *not* to have the work done. I mean it won't break perfectly good steering, right?
