I’ve got 900 miles now on my new 6 speed Rubicon rocking factory 4:88 gears. MPG…15.6 and I’m trying. Figured I’d throw the info out there since I couldn’t find anything on what to expect.

My '21 2dr is the 2.0T and 8spd auto with about 7500 miles on it.

I'm averaging a little over 24mpg.

2 door Sport, 3.6 with an automatic. I will push up to 27-29mpg on a long freeway stretch, average about 22mpg on a mix of city/highway. Your mileage does not sound great, but it is a new motor with a different setup.

Yea his is lower because he’s running 4.88 gears and, since he said it’s factory gears, I’m assuming 35” tires.

I have a 2.0t and stock I was getting 19-24mpg stock with 4.10 gears and the factory 33” tires. After adding a 3.5” lift and heavy 37” tires and beadlock rims I dropped to 14-14.5mpg mixed driving. I recently upgraded to 4.88 gears and now getting 15.5-15.9mpg mixed driving. And since i only have 600 miles on the gears it may get better. Maybe lol. But I’m not complaining about what I’m getting.

Milage greatly depends on driving. If you are doing a lot of highway driving then those 4.88 gears are killing you.

I'm getting right at 18 with a stock JLUR manual. I do much more city driving, but the highway driving I do is 70 MPH+ and over big hills (the Missouri Ozarks) so I don't pick much up there either. I would also be lying if I said there was no "spirited" driving mixed in there.

On a day without much wind, sticking to the speed limit, and trying to get everything out of it, I think I could get up to 19.5, maybe 20. Don't overlook the wind though. It doesn't take much to kill your milage.

3.0 here and I'm only getting 21-22 mpg with city driving, I have a bit of a heavy foot. I have a trip this weekend, looking forward to see the hwy mpg.

2dr Sport S Manual. I get about 22-24 combined. 20 if I'm just in the city. 25-26 if I'm going 75MPH and up to 28-32 going 60MPH.

I live in Florida so there's like no hills. I went out to Arkansas and Texas last month and got 24-25 HWY. It was like 19 though when the 30mph winds were hitting perpendicular.

Loving it though

The 4.88 gearing was introduced because so many folks regear after upsizing to larger tires. And it's *way* cheaper to have the factory install that ratio in the first place rather than have a shop pull the old ones and set up new ones.

There's really no reason to run 4.88 on factory 33" tires... that's some l .. oo .... www gearing.

I assume you're planning on up-sizing your tires to at least 35?

My 'yota has 4.88 gears and 33" tires, but that's because it's lugging a 5000lb truck around with the 158hp 2TR-FE normally aspirated four-banger. I'm spinning 3000 RPM at 70mph.

Haha. And the coincidence for me is that I live in the town of Ozark, which is not the town from the show Ozark, but I grew up at the lake that is featured in the show Ozark, which is Lake of the Ozarks, which is nothing like the show Ozark, and none of the above are in Ozark county. Missouri is weird.

I’ve got the factory 33” tires still on it. Hopefully the engine frees up a little bit more. I live in the mountains and over 200 miles of that have been in 4 wheel high/low too. So it that bad of mileage I guess. So far I’ve been driving with the real time mileage displayed aiming for the best milage possible while on road. I’m about to stop watching it and just go by what feels right. Most likely my milage will get worse, but whatever. Not the reason I bought it, but it makes the range total garbage. I’m gonna need some extra storage soon.
