Hello peeps,

KO2’s don’t really run small. They are all true 35’s. Every manufacturer has their way of measurement. They are exactly what the tire company’s say they are on their spec sheets. They are all within 1/2“ give or take of each other. All tires when you put weight on them will lose height, mounted on the vehicle. Unfortunately there is a lot of internet crap that floats around. All lift companies will give their recommendations as far as tire sizes. And none of them will talk about which of their lifts fit “true” 35’s - 37’s etc. They base their lifts on tire manufacturers sizes. If you want a 35, just pick one you want that fits your needs and enjoy.

If you want a pretty spot on way to calculate the height of a tire mounted on the vehicle, here is a great calculator. All you need is the Revolutions per mile.

Here’s an example.

5280 x 12 / RPM / 3.14 = mounted on jeep tire height

Good example
37-12.50-17 KO2
5280 x 12 / 569 / 3.14 = 35.46" tall.

another

37-12.50-17 Cooper STT Pro
5280 x 12 / 565 / 3.14 = 35.71" tall

The only brand of tires that measures true to what is written on the side of the tire is Interco. Sometimes they even run bigger.

All other brands run smaller. If a tire is labeled 35 their true measurement prior to being mounted to a vehicle is usually in the 34.5-34.9 range. Once you put a few thousands pounds on them, they compress. They will measure between 33.25 and 34. Most common seems to be 33.5-33.75.

Unless you walk around with a measuring tape you will never know the difference.

285/75/18s run pretty close to 35" tall, taller than most tires labeled 35s

Tire manufacturers measure tires on a specific width wheel, and they include the sidewall bulge. So, the listings you see on their "specifications" pages ARE accurate.

Now, when you and I measure we use a straight line from the ground up, and, we also have the weight of the vehicle on the tire. So naturally we're going to get a shorter measurement.

I've run dozens of AT and MT tires over the last 15 or 20 years and my experience is that most brands are very very similar in size when you compare apples to apples.
