Had a discussion about this and the opposing party said that a very small number of Jeep owners upgrade their suspensions. While I get these numbers may be skewed on the forum due to all of us being enthusiasts (more or less), I was curious as to how many of you do.

What about those of us that change suspension without the stabilizer? Why change the stabilizer at all, for most suspension upgrades?

I was trying to cover the Jeep owners who only upgrade the stabilizer as it is typically one of (if not the first) that a typical Jeep owner changes. Let me see if I can edit the poll.

Huh, that's interesting, as it would be the last thing I would change. Seems it makes little/no difference in suspension (not included in most kits) and I wouldn't change it even if I did change all other suspension components. I guess it's just a different way of looking at things (to me it has the least impact to suspension).

By the way, I'd start with a coil spring spacer or springs before I changed any other components.

You and I both know that BUT in "forums" outside of this one, the steering stabilizer is typically the first thing that is recommended to be changed.

Well, since it's not an option, I'll just post my change(s).

I will put OME coil springs on my JLR and possibly front lower control arms (but only if necessary to correct caster).

I find it odd an upgraded steering stabilizer would be a first mod....I'm with Aces its near the bottom of my list and will probably never happen. (Hydro assist however would be fantastic)

Everything centers around ones desired tire size. Everything else is meant to fully clear them and properly support them.

The reason why one would replace the stabilizer on an otherwise stock Jeep, is because they are relocating it further up and out of the way and are taking the opportunity to upgrade to a higher quality unit.

Your poll doesn’t have a category for my situation:
  • Full lift, steering stabilizer and adjustable track bar
I’d have set up the poll differently:

Make each a separate choice (e.g., Full lift, Steering stabilizer, Adjustable track bar, etc.) and allow people to select multiple choices.

Yep; but in the end, it is the "did nothing-all stock" percentage that will give me the answer I am ultimately seeking, which to your point, I could have simply made two choices. However, I was also interested in other situations. No poll is perfect...

If I did a rubi takeoff suspension and got a lift, does that count? 🤔
I voted mine as “full lift kit” because I did replace shocks, springs, and LCA’s with different ones, got an alignment, and basically got a 2.5 inch lift out of it…

More interesting that the results is the idea someone thinks this is an exhaustive lift of options.

I’ve swapped out my front lower control arms and nothing else. I have no option to choose.

I didn't think that it was an exhaustive list of options. The list could have been 30 items long.

Try it now...added front control arms.
