Hello to all at the JL Wrangler forum. Have been researching the diesel option of the 2020 Wrangler and wonder if anyone has knowledge to share concerning the added weight of the 3.0. There are many reviews that state an added 400 pounds to the Wrangler over the 3.6. It would be nice to know where those pounds are located. The weight difference of the 3.0 is about 180 pounds more than the 3.6. The 8HP75 and 850RE are pretty much equal in weight. Five gallons of def is about 45 pounds (when full) located at the rear axle. So, there are 225 pounds accounted for. What do the other 175 pounds come from and where are they located? Truly wish the 3.0 was available in a 2-dr model.
This would be the bomb with a 3.0 powertrain.
