Question for anyone who has had experience with Connecticut Emissions testing while having a Tazer and SGW extension installed. Went to have my emissions done last week and unmarried my Tazer just before going and plugged the SGW extensions back in to the OBD II connections. My Jeep failed OB II test and thus failed the entire emissions test. Would the SGW extensions be the problem or not unmarrying the Tazer earlier? Thanks!

The tasers not plugged into the OBD2 port... If you have I can't remember what option it is but there's an option basically you enable that and then you can leave your taser installed and not worry about it.

The only time you need to worry about an unmarry it is for dealer service work but that's not because of the emissions either.

Hell I left my Taser in for a warranty repair that took over a month and it was never an issue.

I used to have a Tazer and did not disconnect the bypass for CT emissions. Note that I had an original two piece Tazer.

Now I still have an SGW bypass, but switched to JScan. Pass emissions like that over the summer.

Edit: I also have a Smart Stop Start, now, and left it installed.

Interesting, thank you for the info. I might just disconnect everything and return to stock for the follow up, although my hands are going to hate me for it.
How do you like JScan? I don't do anything crazy with the Tazer, just enable passive entry, off road pages, and passenger heated seat on remote start. So I've been thinking about switching to Jscan.

I like it better than Tazer. I was an early adopter of Tazer in 2018 because it was the only device available to manage ESS. It had its own bugs and frequent firmware updates which were cumbersome to apply (unmarry, unplug from vehicle, find the one USB cable that worked with it, cross my fingers because the Mac app was buggy, reinstall, remarry, redo all of my settings).

SSS + JScan is much smoother, plus my OBD port is now free (remember, my Tazer of the original two piece).

So you don't use the JScan to turn of the auto/stop but have the SSS cable, correct?

You don't have to "switch". I use and love both!

Yes. JScan can not do anything with ESS.

SSS is more than a cable. It has a little microcontroller that remembers the state of the dash button.
