Thanks @hoag4147 for looking that up!

Looks like the urethane bushing got pushed out. I've had this happen to me on a control arm joint a long time ago. From what I figured out, I had over greased them and it caused this to happen. Not sure which grease you use, but too heavy/thick of a grease could possibly cause this too.

I would think it could be rebuilt without having to drive out the whole joint.
Yeah , thanks bud, I been using the same grease the whole time I’ve had them, but not to say I couldn’t have gave it a pump or two to much , that’s entirely possible. I’m not looking for something for nothing, I’m just trying to find a rebuild kit that I can order. I didn’t find anything on their website. I have email in to them, I suspect I’ll hear from them tomorrow…….

Is the JL version 2.5s?
Edit - not 2.5s

Got new two piece bushing, doesn’t fit…..😠
Emailed RJ again……turns out , RJ dude gave me the wrong information. He apologized, and is sending me the right bushing for free, and a Tee shirt……😂….. I changed the link above to the right part. This has been quite the ordeal, lol, all I wanted to do was install a new bushing……….🤣.

Looks like the same one (single bushing) we were discussing minus the washers and snap ring 😆

Well after all that drama with the bushings, I’ve decided to go back to oem. Lol.

The Rock Jocks are awesome, they really are but through trial and error I’ve decided that they’re not really a good fit with a control arm that already has a krawler joint, Johnny joint, or Heim joint on the frame side. This allows the arm to articulate but doesn’t re-orient the arm back to the original position the arm should be. I’ve had a conversation with RK about it, and they’re in agreement with me that the arm needs to re-center when coming off an obstacle.

In other words, the arm stays where you put it, and with it laid over it bangs against the axle housing. You see in pic with oem bushing, the fork and the axle housing stay parallel with each other……….

And with RJ bushing you see how the arm lays over, now this is ok when on the obstacle, but when I come down the arm stays like that……

When I was on short arms it wasn’t as big a deal, but these long bastards are a lot more involved in the overall articulation and when they stay laid over and bang on the axle housing you hear about it…….…😁 ……

Other than a pain in the ass, getting bushings out, the oems are only 10.00 ea, so, I’ll just replace as needed…….✌

I’ve had a few guys ask about my install of long arm kit so I’m gonna go over it here so I can reference it later……. It’s a bit long winded, so you might want to bring a samich, or make sure your coffee’s topped off……:)

The instructions are really pretty good there’s lots of pics, I like that… the only thing I didn’t like is there’s not instructions for just the long arm upgrade, they’re for the whole lift. I had to skip over some of it to get to what I needed, but sometimes had to read through parts of it to get to the parts I needed. Anyway I read them so many times and watched a couple vids over and over, by the time I got my parts I only had to reference the instructions for suggested control arm lengths, lol.

Im not going to do step by step, because the instructions and videos are readily available. I’m just gonna hit on some things I did, that’s not mentioned or at least I didn’t see it anywhere.

On the rear axle : they give you a tool to locate the lca/shock bracket be sure to rotate it down as far as it will let you, this will help with space between the arm and the body mount bolt. Also it’s not something you have to do but since I was right there, I decided to weld my axle tubes up.

With the track bar bracket they have you put angle finder on the truss and match the reading. If I had it to do over, I would rotate the bracket slightly more forward. With the factory exhaust the track bar is extremely close, and mine makes contact on extreme flex.

On the rear frame side lca brackets they tell you to drill out one of the existing holes in the frame to 1” in diameter. Well the welded nut on the bracket is bigger than that because of the weld so you need to make the hole bigger. Just be careful not to elongate it because the nut fitting in the hole is what puts the bracket in the right spot. I just used a bigger step bit so to keep the hole round as possible.

On the front, the only thing is be sure and wrap the drivers side bracket with as much heat shield as you can. I took this step lightly and noticed that my anti seize was leaking out it was that hot. I smashed out my oem aluminum heat shield and used it as well as the heat shield they provide. It’s not pretty, but is working until I can fab something up….

This is how I had it:

This is how it is now, the heat of the exhaust in that spot is no joke, lol. …….

LOD rock sliders will work with this kit, despite LOD and RK both telling me it wouldn’t. You just have to be willing to weld them on……….
