Please let me know what you find that is causing the noise inside your door, I have the same problem.
Mine turned out to be the outer door seal, the thin one about 3/8" , I used ACDelco Super Lube 10-4057 on the thin seal, and the squeaking went away, try this first

Check the thin upper secondary seal on the door, mine turned out to be the seal, I used ACDelco Super Lube 10-4057 from Amazon, $14.00 on the small outer seal and it worked, I spent a total of three weeks chasing down this problem,

Sure thing, chadc880. Please send us a private message so we can gather some additional information from you.

Check the thin secondary seals on the doors, on my 2019 JL they started to squeak real bad, and after 3 weeks I finally pinpointed the problem to the thin outer seals, used ACDelco Super Lube 10-4057, and the squeaking was completely eliminated

Noticed mine doing this as I left the dealership after having my E brake replaced which never really worked. 2021 JTRD - April build month. I also checked the rest of the doors and they all do it a little bit, just not as obnoxiously as the drivers door.

Youā€™ll forget it soon enough.
Havenā€™t noticed my doors did this for about a year now.
Thanks for the reminder šŸ¤£

donā€™t sweat it though. If it really bothers you, you could always remove the door check and let it reset inside the door itself

Iā€™m not too concerned about having door stops, but it does concern me from one of the early posts that some of the internal reinforcements debonded. Iā€™ve got an appointment to get it checked out next week.

Itā€™s disappointing in a truck that stickered right at 70k and has only 12k miles on it. Obviously a yearly door replacement is not in the cards. Iā€™ll see what the dealership says and I may end up trying some PL adhesive if the failure location is identifiable. Having had TJs and a JK, Iā€™ve noticed that the hard top on this is way more flimsy and it creaks and pops. Lubricating the freedom panels helps. I also think I have a loose body mount, so thereā€™s that.

I fixed the sub rattle and the gateway module rattle and the windshield ACC sensor box rattle and the upper dash speaker rattle. I have yet to do the lower dash speakers. Honestly this thing is worse than my TJ at 100k miles and the fit and finish on that was awful.

Temperature fluctuations are not kind to this thing Iā€™ve noticed.

This might work as well.

Hey @JeepCares,

How about I re-glue all my doors back together myself and then Iā€™ll get some use out of my inductive heater to go ahead and pull and replace and properly torque all of the body mounts the boys in Toledo forgot to torque.

Instead of paying a dealership to color match 4 new doors, you just send me a set of those nice half doors and weā€™ll call it square.

I hear yaā€¦and Iā€™m not down playing that it ā€œshouldā€ do this.
If you read early I n in the thread I actually reached out to quite a few trying to narrow this down and find a solution. One member even went as far as took apart the door and tried a fix (unfortunately unsuccessfully)

my whole point is that some who got the door check replaced or even a new doorā€¦it WILL happen again. It sux but it sure isnā€™t worth the stress. Itā€™s a ticking sound, that I honestly as mentioned donā€™t even hear or think about unless this thread pops up again.

you could have the dealer look into it. But Iā€™m just saying that itā€™s probably not worth them messing with it when it surely will happen again.
But yes others solutions where to just unscrew the door check from the Jeep frame and let the check/stop reset into the cavity and no more noise.

Thats just my $0.02 though. If itā€™s worth the trial, do what you gotta do Brother

To echo this point, I notice noises a lot (it drives my wife crazy) and even I have gotten completely used to it. As long as the door still works, just ignore it and focus on the other creaks and rattles that Jeeps make.

I understand. Itā€™s not the pop that bothers me. Itā€™s the fact that metal components in the truck are debonding and coming apart. The noise is just a symptom of a larger problem and I donā€™t know if that problem has larger repercussions, e.g., safety.

Just from skimming the thread it looks like FCA doesnā€™t have a fix, hence my comment about yearly door replacements. I wouldnā€™t want to replace doors unless theyā€™ve made some kind of design change that resolved the issue.

To me Itā€™s worth taking it in just so another report goes to FCA about this issue even if I turn down new doors, if collectively enough complaints forces FCA to fix this issue down the line. Iā€™ve never taken a vehicle in for a noise issue. I usually just fix it myself or ignore it and it will probably be the case with this too.

I saw where someone tried caulk or something and it didnā€™t work and where someone mentioned PL. I wonder if anyone has actually tried PL or panel bonding epoxy (I didnā€™t see that in this thread). Iā€™d rather attempt that than get new doors.

Okay, I had a chance to read the thread. It looks like there are several places where foam glue had a chance to break free creating a friction point. There also may be issues up near the forward door hinge mounting structure.

Iā€™m definitely going to the dealer to get it on FCAs radar.

Iā€™m also going to go in and try some noise elimination techniques depending on the accessibility of all the places where this friction is occurring.

I have some experience quieting component or structural interfaces in environments where no noise is allowable and with much poorer access. There are a lot of little techniques. Spray lubes, especially ones with distillates, are not a long term solution.

Iā€™m telling you guys just undo the door checks and just push them in the door. No more noise and one less step to have to take the doors off and risk scratching the paint more. No other Jeep had door checks before. The issue is a foam bond glue that was suppose to stop noise and stuff cant hold up I guess, but everything says they are still welded or rivited in spots so the door is not actually coMing apart.

Agree. The simplest solution is usually the best solution.

My 2021 JLUR, built August 19, purchased September 19, just started to creak on the passenger front door two days ago. Noticed it on the trail on Friday and itā€™s been there ever since.
Doors never off.
Dry, hot climate.
5,100 miles on odo
Iā€™d like to update this post by saying that my driver door has the exact same clicking as well now. It started about a month ago. Both of my front doors click multiple times when opening and closing now.

Mine still does it but I honestly stopped noticing it and I never took it to the dealership. Having FCA send me raw doors that will have to be color matched and probably never be right to deal with an issue that will just come back on those replacements doesnā€™t make a lot of sense to me. Itā€™s also quite a bit quieter.

I was also distracted by the other more concerning noise, a popping right rear body mount on my Gladiator. I took it to the dealership and asked them to check the tightness and got the ā€œcould not replicate.ā€ I didnā€™t ask them to check the noise, I asked them to check the tightness of the bolt. A month or so later I went to install ARB sliders and found the body mount in question was hand tight!

When I then took all of the 6 forward bolts off I found that one had a broken retainer and there was a hodgepodge of blue Loctite on some of them. 2 were loose. None had red Loctite. I think this body mount issue is a bigger problem than this door issue but there are a lot of QA issues with the JL/JT generation. Also, donā€™t mess with the bolts without an inductive heater.

I donā€™t personally agree with the ā€œjust disconnect the door catchā€ solution but right now there is no solution outside of replacing the doors with new ones with the same design or manufacturing flaw.
