Lydia,

This is something i dread taking to my local dealer. And its going become growing problem among the JL community. While on the outside its a really annoying creaking noise, on the inside of the door the side impact door beam has become detached from the door skin. Are there any star #’s we can reference to them?
Hi chadc880.
I checked our system and, unfortunately, I was unable to locate any STAR cases. With that said, if you do decide to visit your dealer for this, please let me know and I will request that a STAR case is opened.

Lydia,

I brought it to a dealer near my residence and had them briefly look it over so they could schedule a appointment slot for Wednesday 21 at 10am. Big O Dodge Greenville, SC. So yes if you can whatever is needed. The service assistance manager said it will most likely need a door replacement.

Not offhand, but I’ll see what I can find out. It has been at the dealership for 8 days now....they are telling me it is taking too long because my Jeep has “sun fade” and they are struggling to match the paint.
Can you send me the star case to your event with your door as soon as possible to assist with my dealership with my door issue as well ??

101442476- pretty sure that’s the one for the doors.

My dealer said it definitely wasn’t the only one they had seen.

Mostly....the paint still isn’t right. They need to touch up a few areas, which they have said they would do. Also, the driver door panel rattles. So, I assume that something is loose or rubbing and needs to be opened and put back together. I’m afraid that one of the panel clips is broken, but all I can do is just keep taking it back until it is right.

This started with my passenger door a week or so ago and now the drivers door too. I'll just live with it before I have the dealer paint and replace my doors.

Unfortunately, it just drove me crazy. They had an engineer look at it. My understanding is that since the doors are aluminum they chose to bond in some of the internal frame pieces of the door. In my experience, once a glue line cracks, it’s only going to get worse. I spend a fair amount of time off road, and where I live we get large temperature changes throughout the year. I’m guessing that doesn’t help. I would be interested to know if they’ve made any changes in the design/assembly since 2018 model year.

I have a 2018 JLU Rubicon. 10,000 miles. I keep hearing a clicking noise the entire time I’m driving. It kind of sounds like a rubbing click. It’s around or in the drivers side front door. The dealership said it’s most likely the door check. At first they simply denied hearing any noise at all. Taking over a month for the part to come in I had a mechanic look at it he felt that it was more than that. The dealership is stumped. They finally just said that it is a jeep so it’s to be expected. They said just wait for the door check. Honestly, I don’t trust their opinion. I just bought this jeep almost 2 months ago with 8800 miles. At this point if it cannot be fixed I’ll just have to trade it in. If I do, sadly I will never buy another Jeep or Chrysler product again. My 2015 jeep never had any issues like this. Pretty disheartened. Any advice? Thank you
