Cracked windshield 5 days old

Cracked windshield 5 days old and you can tell it was not from a stone just a straight 6 inch line from the top of windshield down right in my drivers view..
Calling dealer tomorrow
Any major problems with the new JL glass being weak?

5 days, 5 weeks or 5 years, it is bound to happen. I know it sucks, but if you keep your Jeep for any amount of time, this won’t be the last windshield you’ll be replacing.

Mine cracked on day 6 too. Dealership argued that they couldn't do anything, but after I filled out a survey they replaced it as a "one-time" customer satisfaction guesture. It has cracked twice since then. Haven't had it a year yet and it needs replacement again. It never chips....just cracks.

Glass seems very weak. The smallest thing will cause a crack. I have about 3 or 4 in mine. Thankfully it is all on the passenger side lol. Wave customer care says they are soon to release gorilla glass like the JK.

yeah they looked at mine for 3 seconds said nope its from a rock..
if it was a rock I wasn't in it when it happened...
here I am 10 days later still waiting on a new one and I have to get it inspected soon..

Glass coverage through your insurance on a Wrangler is essential. I replace my windshields yearly.

My friend cracked the windshield of a brand new JLUR during it's first test drive. That has to be a record!

I owned a TJ from 1997 to 2008, never had a cracked windshield.

Not any issue with my JK in 5 years and Cracked windshield after 1 month with my JL, the Little Rock was so small ans it was such a small impact I can't believe it cracked lol.

Had some huge stones hit my windshield with the JK and nothing.

Time will tell...

No test drive... but my wife took a rock/big chip less than 5 minutes from leaving the dealership.
Too close to the top edge to fill. We will wait till January when the cold arrives and its pulled into a warm garage.

A few hours after posting my message, my windshield took yet another crack. The rock was quite tiny and I didn't think much of it until there was a 5" long crack which originated from the impact.

Two cracks and we're not into winter yet. It's going to be a long winter for my windshield...

I commend you for staying far enough away from drivers in front of you, especially in a day and age where every rides everyone else.
