I recently received my front bumper from Next Venture and my tire carrier from Motobilt, both arrived un-painted as expected. Today I brought them to a local body shop for a quote, I told them that they were offroad parts and I basically want to keep them from rusting. I told them semi-gloss black would be ideal. Does this quote seem reasonable? Should I get a quote from another shop? I'm thinking I should have paid extra for the powder coating!

That is insane. A powder coat job would be much cheaper and more durable. Do the powder coat you will be more happy in the long run.

I would be getting new quotes or renting some painting gear and put a nice flat black on them.

My folks paid under $800 to get the front, rear bumper, and some accent pieces painted along with getting their winch installed.

I just ordered my next venture bumpers as well. So I called the local powder coating shop and asked for a ballpark over the phone. He said worst case was around $500-600.

That bumper is almost too pretty to use. They're going to be sad when they put the hawse on and run the winch line through.

Oh it’s already happened! Haha. We’ve talked about running the hawse that has the lights integrated into it just to get more space to protect the paint.
