Has anyone put cooper stt pro 12.5 wide tires on a Rubicon with factory rims without using spacers? Dealer installed lift and Extreme Terrain sent me the wrong spacers. Seeing if I have to wait for the spacers to be delivered tomorrow to pick the Jeep up or if it’s ok to drive for a day.

You wont need them. At all.

Unfortunately no luck. I have rubbing and need spacers to drive it.

So you have a lift and a Rubicon and yours rub but 12.4" wide tire on my Sport and same wheels doesn't? That's bizarre. I can go full lock and drive in circles and no rub. The poster above you has the same setup and 37's and no rub.

Rubbing where? I have 37's and at ride height it doesn't rub anywhere. Even fully stuffed I don't rub anywhere after adjusting my steering stops. Are those 35-12.50-17's ? Damn nice looking Jeep by the way.

I don't mean to go off topic but the sport looks badass with those wheels and tires.

They are 37 12.5 17’s. The guy installing the lift at the dealer said there is rubbing. I’ll go again tomorrow at lunch to show me where especially if you have the same width and no spacers.

It will rub when the suspension is dropped down on the lift. When it’s on the ground it won’t rub. Adjust the steering stops a couple turns while on the lift so they don’t rub the control arms or spring bucket. Here is some pics where mine rubbed, fully drooped. As the suspension cycles it changes angles.

In these pics you can see how much I adjusted the stops. No more rubbing. Fully drooped or stuffed. You can’t really tell the difference in turning radius either. I did this so I wouldn’t have to ever run spacers. Spacers are safe and I don’t see any problems with those that run them, but they do put a lot more stress on bearings, as well as having to recheck them a couple times. I had them in my other Jeeps and decided I didn’t want to use them anymore. Also living up here I wanted the tires tucked so I wouldn’t have so much crap run up the sides in the winter.

Remember there is a difference in width of the Rubicon and Sport axles. Also Rubicon sits higher/has different fenders.

Additionally, as seen with the JK, an apples to apples comparison may yield different results due to manufacturing differences.

Also are your axles centered? This can also be a cause.
