Simple question.

I am going 37 x 12.50 x 17, and I'm going Muds, so which one do you recommend and why?

If not Cooper or BFG, then what?

I'm 100% not interested in Milestars or anything else NOT made in America.

I've owned at least 8 sets of BFGs, for different vehicles, and I've had VERY good experiences, but the MUDS were LOUD.

Just looking for some input on alternatives.

Hello BullMoose1776,

Hope your Friday is going well!

In the 37's there are several options, a few others to consider may be the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T, or the Goodyear MT/R both of which have factories in the US.

Yea, there is a set back to having such a large tread void ratio, some of them can sing a bit.

I would be happy to offer further assistance and provide any other details that you may need. PM Coming your way!

I have a 2020 JLRU with a 2.5” Evo Enforcer Overland lift, King 2.5 shocks and running Cooper sst pros 37x12.50 on a 17x8.5 wheel at 28 psi cold, averages 30 psi hot.

This is my first Jeep and have limited experience with tires this big. That said I was really surprised at how nice the ride is on the Coopers. They ride much better than my buddies JL on 35’s and my F150 with 285’s. I was worried about road noise and was also pleasantly surprised. There pretty quite on the freeway and we find ourselves having a normal volume conversation while doing 70-75. They also seem to handle great at least on the dry road. Admittedly I have not yet driven in rain or snow, I’m sure others can chime in.

Overall I am very impressed with the coopers and would recommend them based on their road manners. They look aggressive but are tame enough for daily driving and family soccer hauling.

Keep an eye out on Amazon or Walmart I picked mine up for $275 each delivered.

I love my coopers but also had good experience with my MTR on my JKU. The MTR also balanced surprisingly well and look great.

I downloaded a decibel meter app and ran it while driving tonight.

40db just sitting with no engine idle.
50-60 db idling and around town driving, stereo off
75 db at 55, stereo off.
80-85 db at 55 with the stereo on 12-13.

I cant imagine that mud terrain tires of any kind would be louder than 85db in the jeep with the hard top on.

Obviously things are subjective but let me know what app you used and tomorrow I can run similar test and report back. I’m curious myself now.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I run the Cooper STT PRO tires. I am close to 50,000 miles on them. I should be able to get another 10,000 miles or so on them. I can easily talk on the phone running 80 mph down the hyw via the Uconnect. I do have a hard top.

I do not have any experience with the KM3.

We have six JL jeeps with the Cooper STT PRO tires with a combined total mileage around 200,000 miles. We wheel in all kinds of different terrain and pull campers. From the sand at the dunes and dessert, to the mud in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Kentucky, to the slick rock in Moab, rocks in Colorado and the Rubicon trail. We have had zero flats, zero balancing issues, zero pressure loss. They have been a great tire. So much so that three of us have already bought additional STT PRO tires so that we have them when we are ready to switch to new tires.
