@JeepCares or anyone else,

I just returned home with my 2019 JLUR and noticed it is leaking some purple fluid down the front of the engine. It is a constant leak, leaves puddles anytime it sits.

Any idea what this could be? I bought from a dealer out of state, so really not looking forward to trying to get a major service done on a brand new Jeep from a dealer I did not buy it from. I had plans to go on a few trips, now am not sure I should.

What is the best way to get this into a dealer, and will I be without for weeks? Having a leak like this right away is a little scary.

antifreeze probably from the water pump... how long you'll be without it will be determined by parts availability... they'll put you in a rental at least... you can drive it as long as you keep an eye on the coolant level and top it up with the correct coolant...

Thanks for the info. I was hoping that it was not that, as leaking there now is not a good omen. Living in the desert I want my cooling system in good working order. Also, that should be an easy area to have sealed from factory, so hope it is not something more major.

probably a bad pump from the parts supplier... it happens... get it fixed and it'll be fine...

I sent the pictures to the dealership I purchased it from, the service department said they have no idea what it is and to find a local dealer to take it to for service.

I did open a @JeepCares Case since this happening on a brand new vehicle, and to make sure it is corrected right the first time.

That is one dumb dealer you bought from then...how is it possible they would have no idea what the purple fluid is?? Yes good thing you don’t have to service it at the idiot dealer you bought it from..lol.. I would take it in right away to the best dealer close to you to get fixed ASAP! Good luck and yes things happen.

The dealership I bought it from was great to work with up until now, but their answer was shocking as it was pretty clear to me what it was (coolant). But since I'm no mechanic I wanted them to chime in. Their answer was pretty frusterating knowing how they responded now that they have all my money and are not worried about a sale or even having to deal with service.

Sounds like all that dealer wants to do is move inventory.

Maybe your dealer thought it might be that new Mopar “purple” oil that all the kids are using today. ;)

I took a few pictures today after driving around the block to warm it up. Seems to be leaking from 2 separate spots, One spot at the head, and another where a coolant line goes into the engine.

I don't want to drive it anymore, as it seems to be getting worse and worse. Hopefully I can get it into a dealership soon.

@JeepCares , sent PM. Please asssit if you can.

Looks like it is leaking in a few places. Where a hose goes into the engine, and at the head junction. It actually is leaking pretty bad when running now, so have no plans to drive.
