I’ve driven some Lexus vehicles that have issues such as Mark Levinson speakers that rattle, glove box falls open, electric radio antenna groans, front strut system fails, etc.
Quality issues are everywhere.
Almost 19K on my 19 JLUR and the only real reliability issue was the steering box TSB. Not too shabby so far.
On the other hand my previous 2016 JKUR at less than 3K miles had issues with ABS wiring, Transmission skid plate, transmission wiring harness, hard top squeaking, wind noises around hard top and rain coming in around windshield. Had some worn out rocker arms at less than 20K miles, smoked a lot when started after sitting all weekend (oil burning smell). Something not so good with engine quality of the V6 in the JK.
My built 2018 Sport 2.0T has 20K miles, and I beat it up off-road fairly regularly. Still going strong, no issues other than TSBs! Even my Badland winch, used regularly for severe pulls (yanking trees and stumps) is still going strong! I did mount the control box up higher from water, onto the bull bar, and sealed the box with silicone - but that’s an issue for another thread.
Consumer Reports has always hated the Wrangler and always rates them low. I’ve had three and knock wood they’ve been as solid as anything else I’ve owned. I take Consumers with a HUGE grain of salt....
