A local used dealer has a 19’ rubicon for sale. Carfax indicates FCA reacquired the Wrangler for:

compressor replacement0717 - overheating concerns
  • 1805 - CEL illuminated0703 - hose replacement2402
  • - AC malfunction
Dealer claims 12 month factory unlimited mileage warranty.

Should I run away?

Depends on the price.
When you say overheating issues, does that mean engine overheating, or A/C overheating? If engine, run away.

that local used dealer probably stole it for nothing if it’s a true lemon and trying to make a pretty penny on it. Clean title? Salvage? Mileage? Price?

I'm not sure. The text above was copy/pasted directly from Carfax. I'll ask dealer, but I doubt they'll know.

Yes it's a true lemon
I picked up my 2018 JLUR that way. Mine was reported to have engine power loss, never replicated by service. Owner kept complaining until FCA took it back. I think it may have been buyers remorse. My understanding is that FCA will stand behind it.
Saved me a bunch of money buying this one over all the others. Make sure you understand the issue and what your liability is vs. FCA or the dealer. Then if the price is right, make your choice.

Can the dealer provide you with documented info on what was done to correct the problems?

I had one, a 2020 that had a lot of problems and FCA wanted to replace the engine. I traded out of it but a new engine most like solved its problems.
I saw it listed on the dealer lot a week or so ago for about what a 2020 would sell for but it has a new engine.

I'd be leery unless the dealer can prove the issues have been resolved.

RUN AWAY FAST!!!!......Wait REALLY FAST!!!!

I just had my 2020 JLUR bought back. I feel sorry for the person that buys it from FCA. It will end up getting them killed.

You will have very little recourse should issues come up. And they will because regardless of what the dealer says the issues are still there otherwise FCA would have fixed them under warranty and not bought the Jeep back.
