I just hooked up a bypass cable and I'm getting an odd behavior from my ODB2 dongle. The connection light does a cycle of 8 rapid blinks and then strobes for about 1/2 a second, usually it's just a solid blue. The power light is on as normal.

My phone also can't connect to the device.

Prior to this the dongle has been working great. It's always been fast and issue free. I haven't tried it plugged in through the security gateway again. I was wondering if this is one of those changes that take a while for the system to adapt to or not? I've tried two key cycles and a phone reboot.

Seems to be more a JScan issue now. JScan won't connect to the device any longer. I verified torque is connecting. I connected back to the gateway and had the same issue.

I was connecting just fine to the adapter before trying on bypass.

I would experiment some more but I need someone with little hands.

Going to try another but it's odd, this is an ELM 327 2.2 with Bluetooth 5.0 that worked yesterday.

I have the cheap Veepeak they list but haven't been able to find it.

I don't find it "odd" at all. JSCAN lists/recommends/says use/avoid for valid reasons.

Finding your cheap Veepeak is the answer. I have and use the Veepeak device with JScan on a regular basis. It has been flawless.

I just ordered one that was listed as JL recommend.

Looked everywhere for that Veepeak. I may have left it on a prior car.

I have used the Autel 12+8 cable with Veespeak BLE + and OBDlink MX + with JSCAN and have had no issues.

Have the OBDlink MX + now and it works. But it looks like the 4xe modules are not in JScan. I see mention of 4xe support coming. I'll wait to get a license when/if that happens.

Funny enough, Torque can't connect to the OBDlink MX+. But it is listed on the support list for the adapter.

You might want to delete the JSCAN app and download it again as the 4XE is there, I did not look to see if the modules or other items were there but it shows up as a choice

Also look into OBDLINK app, it gives a lot of useful info and is free for the most part..

It's there but it's missing 4xe specific modules related to the hybrid system, recharge, etc. I know they exist as people have reported the dealerships mentioning them to people that get charging issues.

Those are the ones I'm most curious about.

From seeing their Facebook group it looks like the 4xe was just added.

I would shoot them a message on FB they are super helpful, they have grown a lot since they first released JSCAN, I’m sure updates are needed faster then they can crank them out and users like me and others always are asking for more and more

I'm being over demanding I know, lol. It's a whole new platform that has just only been reslesed a short while. I'm a software Dev/Architec myself, so I appreciate the effort it takes.

I did shoot the FB message over.
